Diamond Distinction Offers Unfinished Kitchen Cabinets
Since about March this year (2010) Diamond rolled out unfinished kitchen cabinets. It looks like everything except their thermofoil and laminate cabinet door styles are available as unfinished.
Customers are required to sign a form that pretty much states Diamond is not responsible for the finish. Joints that come loose and things of that nature would still be covered by Diamond’s warranty, but they just don’t want to be responsible for a finish that they didn’t apply themselves.
I was surprised to see that there’s no discount for Diamond’s unfinished kitchen cabinets; many of the other companies I deal with knock 5% or so off the price. Unfinished cabinets from Diamond cost the same as their regular stains though.
