The Best Cabinet Site Gets an Engine Rebuild

The first incarnation of this kitchen cabinet site was a home-brew php conglomeration that I wrote myself, and it worked fine for a couple of months. It was enough to get the word out that there was a new informational kitchen cabinet site on the internet, and all was well for the most part. I found myself getting behind though; some people are emailing with questions about kitchen cabinet X, Y, or Z and I can’t keep up. Ed has been along for the ride so far, but is going to be taking a more active role in producing content for the site. Rather than make poor Ed jump through all the hoops I created when I first made the site (they’re second nature to me now, but a little daunting for someone new) I decided to move the site and its contents into a REAL Content Management System, so that he (and I really) can focus on just producing quality kitchen cabinet content for people who want to have more information before they embark on an expensive new or remodeled kitchen. I’ve used Textpattern before, but only long enough to know that it wasn’t for me. I’ve changed my mind. Textpattern is great, and this site is now running on Textpattern. With searching implemented (as of 01-01-2010) the site is finally ready for the masses; Ed and I will be busy from here on creating great kitchen cabinet content for all of you web surfers who need more information during new kitchen construction or a remodel.
